Rodger L. Taylor, Jr. was born July 14, 1953 to Rodger Lee Taylor and Helen Jones Taylor in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was educated in the Goldsboro City Schools, graduating from Goldsboro High School in 1971. One of Prophet Taylors greatest testimonies is how Gods mercy extended to him when he became involved in drugs and criminal activity as a young man misguided by bad choices. He married Aletta Newkirk on July 21, 1973. To provide for his new wife he joined the U. S. Navy and served three years stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
When coming home on leave to Goldsboro he would join Aletta in attending the Tabernacle of Prayer For All People. He was convicted of his sinful state and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour on April 4, 1976. Joining Tabernacle he served faithfully for more than 18 years, over which time he held various positions some of which included: Sunday School Superintendent, Bible Institute Instructor, Dean of the Tabernacle Bible Institute and Assistant to the Pastor. From 1994 to 1998 he hosted the Spirit and Life Ministries Broadcast on WGTM 590-AM , Wilson, North Carolina. From 1994 to 2001, Prophet Taylor served as Associate Elder at Miracle Temple Church of Evangelism. At Miracle Temple he conducted the School of Ministry and hosted the churchs weekly telecast, More Than Conquerors, each Saturday evening on the local Cable station. Of the many credits to his walk with God two things always stood out wherever he servedhis love for people and his faithfulness to God and leadership.
Prophet Taylors endeavor to fill his hands with the things of God, coupled with his humble and teachable spirit afforded him promotion in the Kingdom of God. In September of 2001, Prophet Taylor founded the Philadelphia Community Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina, a church committed to excellence. Under his leadership, the church took a step of faith to purchase eight acres of land on which was built the first building of the Campus for Jesus. Prophet Taylor hosted the weekly Spirit & Life Telecast for 10 years. In 2010 God opened a door for Prophet Taylor to travel to the region of Bangalore India where he assisted in the training of new Christian Pastors. Again in 2014 Prophet Taylor traveled abroad to Shanghai, China where he was the Sunday morning speaker at the Abundant Grace International Fellowship Church. He is esteemed for his extensive revelation and explicit presentation of the Scriptures.
In 2014, Prophet Taylor accepted the pre-destined elevation to the office of Prophet as was bestowed upon him by God and confirmed by Apostles Dennis and Ravonda Jacobs. He operates powerfully in this office as he continually sets order and speaks into the lives of people as the Spirit leads.
Prophet Taylor earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Resources Administration from the St. Leo College, graduating cum laude, and has done undergraduate studies with the American Bible College and Shaw University School of Divinity. He is retired from the United States Postal Service and is on staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital as a Volunteer Chaplain. He and Pastor Aletta have been given the parental oversight of two daughters and one son. The Taylors also bask in the joy of three beautiful granddaughters.
